5 Spots not to miss at Kumbh

Whether you are visiting The Kumbh Mela for religious purposes or simply out of sheer curiosity, there are some spots you simply can’t afford to miss:-

1. Har Ki Pauri

Nothing encompasses the spirit of Haridwar better than Har Ki Pauri. From devotees bathing at dawn to the Ganga Aarti in the evening, this is a must visit spot during the Kumbh.

2. Mansa Devi Temple

Take the ropeway up to the shrine of the Snake Goddess Mansa Devi, and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the sea of humanity assembled for the Kumbh Mela.

3. Moti Bazaar

The even normally vibrant Moti Bazaar looks brighter during the Kumbh as shops stock up with Gangajal, vermillion, Rudraksha beads and sundry other religious items that pilgrims are bound to need for their rituals. Visit it to experience the colors of India.

4. Daksh Mahadev temple

While not exactly a Kumbh site, the Daksh temple site is a must visit site for its religious importance. Visit it for a glimpse into Hindu mythology.

5. Chandi Devi temple

Whether you undertake the 3 km long trek, or decide to go there by the Urankhatola, The dense forest surrounding the temple and the majestic view of the Ganges cutting flowing through Haridwar with devotee tents lining its banks, the view from up here is amazing.

A single visit may not be enough to cover the area, but these spots surely come in the ‘not to be missed’ category.
