Indian Institute of Photography, Asia’s most innovatory institute in photography education, achieved another milestone when it received an exclusive invitation from HIPA to support and associate with the richest photography award in the world. IIP is the only institute in India to receive such a privileged invitation.
This world-renowned photography award has been honored with the blessings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, and Governor of Dubai, in an effort to establish on the global stage an inspirational international competition.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum established the prestigious ‘Hamdan International Photography Award’ that demonstrates the commitment of Dubai to encouraging and supporting art, culture and innovation. The Award appeals to all talented photographers across the globe which will in turn attract international art and cultural attention.
Through this award, The Emirate of Dubai brings to the lovers of this particular art a new and refreshing international aspect, which will distinguish it from other initiatives already sponsoring the art of photography. This new addition is for those who are inspired by natural passion for innovation and leadership, and the constant encouragement and support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The Ruler of Dubai.
The Award highlights how Dubai is fast developing into one of the most artistically conscious and established cities in the world. The entries have been invited in 4 categories in this competition, namely ‘Creating the Future’ ‘General’ ‘Black and White’ and Street Life. The awards for all categories are of $389,000 proving it the world’s richest photography competition.
